In the name of God Amen the eighth day of November 1629 I John Currier of Charlton Kings in the County of Gloucester thou being sick in body but of perfect remembrance thanks be to Gods do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following

 

First I commit my body to the earth whereof it was made and my soul into the hands of Almighty God my creator and all my worldly goods I dispose of them as follows

 

First I give to the poor of Charlton Kings ?

 

I give unto John Churches one bushel of corn and a pair of sheets and to Mary Trotman and Elizabeth Carpenter a ? and ?

 

I give unto my cousin Margaret the wife of Daniel Hawkins a pound and to Edit Churches a pound and one bushel of barley

 

I give unto Jane Churches a pound and to each of the rest of Richard Wager’s children’s children six pence a piece

 

I give unto Elizabeth Collett and Robert Collett six pence a piece and to the rest of Henry Collett’s children three pence a piece

 

I give unto each of Francis Mason’s children six pence a piece

 

I give unto John Diggason one bushel of barley

 

I give unto each of my sons’ children one shilling and six pence a piece

 

I give unto Mary Currier my best flask best bed one pair of sheets and a pillow and to Edith Churches one pair of sheets and flax to make her a bed and the worsted coverlet that I had off William Whithorne

 

I give my wearing apparel and my double cloak unto William Whithorne John Diggason Robert Whithorne and Richard Flank to be divided betwixt them according to the division of my estate

 

I give and bequeath unto my son William thirty two pounds and ten shillings of lawful money of England to be paid at Michaelmas next following after my decease and Michaelmas twelve months from thence next following by equal portion the rest of my goods cattles and chattels and legacies discharged I give and bequeath unto my son Walter whom I do make and ordain my full executor and I do request my cousins John Stubbs and Richard Wager to be overseers of this my last Will

 

 

Richard Wager was married to John Currier’s sister
